The Division Gear Mod Slots

Current Best in Slot Gears and Weapons

Savage gloves, with:

Mar 08, 2016  Aside from the basic quality of a piece of equipment, the rarity also determines the amount of gear mod slots as well as attributes.

  • Crit chance (vital)
  • Crit damage (vital)
  • Weapon damage (recommended for PVP)
  • Elite damage/mitigation % (recommended for PVE)

Vigorous chest piece and run with Booster Shot First Aid skill. Will be the next BiS chest talent when Reckless gets fixed. Roll:

  • Armour (vital)
  • Elite damage/mitigation % (recommended for PVE)
  • Exotic resistance (recommended for PVP)
  • Mod slot (vital)
  • Ammo capacity (recommended)

After this you will need to get set gear to fill the other armour slots, in the current state with the changes to Sentries being unannounced I don’t know what BiS will be – if Sentries gets nerfed hard go for Strikers.

Mask:

The division gear mod slots machine
  • Crit chance (vital)
  • Fire Resistance (recommend for PVP/PVE)
  • Armour destruction % (recommended for PVE)
  • Mod slot (vital)

Kneepads:

  • Crit damage (vital)
  • Any resistances (recommended)
  • Mod slot (vital)

Backpack:

  • Crit damage (vital)
  • Ammo capacity (recommended)
  • Mod slot (vital)

Holster:

  • Armour (vital)
  • All 3 skill main stats (vital)

I deliberately left out skill attributes as they are down to whatever skills you like using the most. However I’d recommend stacking Pulse Critical Hit Chance % on every piece of gear. The backpack is unique in that it rolls 2x skill attributes, choose another skill which you like to use, Pulse Duration is recommended in this slot.

Other good skill attributes are Self-Heal, not to be confused with Group-Heal – if I’m not mistaken these skill attributes can only be applied to the mask and gloves.

In the mod slots you want to be using Stamina mods with armour to get you to the 65% mark, after that either go for firearms or skill power.

Try and tailor your gear main stats so that you have roughly 80K +/- 10K Stamina, and 250K+ firearms. 20K+ skill power is also possible if you manage to roll very high armour, thus making more mods available for skill power – this is if you are serious about min-maxing. Most of the time you should have 10K +/- 2K skill power.

Finally your weapon, again I’m unsure how the weapon balances are going to influence the meta, but as it stands and from what Massive had said about not nerfing current types of weapons, SMG’s are a decent bet because of the built in Crit Chance %.

The type of SMG is totally up to you, but if you are really serious about min-maxing, the AUG/MP7 are the current BiS with best damage scaling. Not to mention MP7’s crazy fire rate.

For talents you want:

  • Deadly (vital)
  • Brutal (vital)
  • Self-preserved (recommend if you like PVE)
  • Responsive (recommend if you like PVP)

For a secondary weapon you want to be looking for a decent semi-automatic Sniper Rifle (highly recommend M1A), or a shotgun (highly recommend SUPER 90).

Talents for sniper you want:

  • Brutal (vital)
  • Deadly (optional)
  • Accurate or Capable (vital)
  • Destructive (recommended for PVE)
  • Vicious (recommended for PVP)

Talents for shotgun you want:

  • Deadly (vital)
  • Brutal (vital)
  • Self-preserved (recommended for PVE)
  • Responsive (recommended for PVP)

For your side arm you want:

Any pistol that rolls Harmful on – great for utility and stopping people/rogues running away!

This guide is the current BiS for every piece of gear for PVP or PVE.

edit: going to add BiS weapon mods for each type of gun because it looks like this is helping some people out which is great!

Weapon mods for SMGs:

  • Optic: headshot damage, crit chance.
  • Magazine: mag size, fire rate.
  • Grip: highly subjective, although I’d always recommend accuracy as one of them as decreasing bullet spread is essential.
  • Muzzle: crit damage, accuracy.

Weapon mods for semi-automatic snipers:

  • Scope: headshot damage, crit chance.
  • Magazine: weapon damage, mag size.
  • Grip: again very subjective, if you can handle recoil and want to utilise the full potential of the RPM go for accuracy, if you want to decrease recoil go with stability/horizontal recoil.
  • Muzzle: crit damage, accuracy/stability.

Weapon mods for bolt-action snipers:

  • Scope: headshot damage, crit chance.
  • Magazine: weapon damage, mag size.
  • Grip: accuracy, stability.
  • Muzzle: crit damage, accuracy/stability.

Weapon mods for pump- action shot guns:

  • Scope: headshot damage, crit chance.
  • Magazine: weapon damage, mag size.
  • Grip: accuracy, stability.
  • Muzzle: crit damage, accuracy/stability.

First, Let's talk about the Armor Slots, there are mostly defensive bonuses added to them like reduce the damage from the upcoming fire. From 20% to 30% Armor will definitely provide you an effective damage reduction. This guide will not only show you how the Armor stats work but also which armor to equip while playing PvE or PvP in the game.

As everyone are aware of how Armor mitigates the Gun damage(not for grenades), so going to 65% armor cap will not only give you an effective damage reduction but also, armor drops from 71.9% down to 71 which in return makes you, even more, stronger. Every Armor you equip has inbuilt armor bonuses, but the thing is which one gives you the best matters. Let's have a look at various Armor equip levels which one of the Reddit User had described in detail.

Armor Levels

Low

This is for the players with all Purple Armor with our Bonus then it will end up providing you Damage Reduction between 35% to 39%.

Medium

This is for the players with all Purple Armor, but with 1 or 2 armor Bonus and will end up providing you Damage Reduction between 40% to 50%. With good chest pieces and knee pads, it can easily hit 48% without fail.

Hard

This is for the players with all Purple Armor, but with 2 or 4 armor Bonus and will end up providing you Damage Reduction between 41% to 60%. This will also depend on your armor pieces you upgrade to chest, backpacks and knee pads it can easily hit 54% without fail.

The question here is which Armor or Gear Piece to Op? Well, this completely depends on your playing style on how you like to comfort them in your gameplay. Here are the Best of all teh gears.

Gear

Perfect Gear Piece

Body Armor(3 bonuses allowed)

Body armor doesn't provide you a big change so we recommend you to try the chest piece which will give you:

  • Armour
  • Elite Damage
  • Your choice of mod slot / health on kill / protection from elites

Back Pack (1 primary stat)

  • Critical hit damage
  • Armor

Highly recommend taking critical hit damage, as you may need the bonus armor to survive and only 3 pieces of gear can get it.

Knee Pads (two bonuses allowed)

  • Critical Damage
  • Armor
  • Damage to Elites
  • Gear Mod
  • Protection from elites

Knee pads allow for bonus critical hit damage, one of the best stats in the game for DPS.
